I've tried this a few times late last year and it didn't work, and I tried again just now and it still didn't work. I ran the 'Refresh number of finds' about 5 minutes ago, after logging 20 finds today. The job ran, and is 'ready', as shown in the bar on the top right. But the number of finds PGC shows me as having hasn't changed to take account of the 20 that I've logged.

where do you see the number of finds? You mean statistics? They are not refreshed upon request as far as I know.
The self support notes for 'Refresh number of finds' states:

'Refresh your number of finds. Expect around 1 minute per 1000 finds you have. This job is normally run daily by the system.'

You can only use it once per week, and you have to be a paying member to use it, but It's clearly there for you to manually refresh your number of finds. Hence the name of it, and the explanatory text.

And it doesn't work.
You didn't answer any of my questions. What does not work? What you expect to happen?
It does not refresh the number of finds that show on my profile stats. Sorry, I thought that was fairly clear from my original post.

I expect a button which states 'Refresh number of finds' to refresh the number of finds that show on my profile stats.

From the Self-support window:

  • The Profile stats are not generated live and might not be affected by these changes until the next time they render.

The statistics are not generated by this switch. They will be generated on regular basis next day (if they were generated today already).

You will get updated only the number of finds used in different statistics around the site, such as Top Finders, where you can see your correct number:

Thanks, that explains that, but the filter you link to doesn't have my correct number of finds either! It should be 3635, not 3615...
Well, as you already mentioned, you requested the update many times and the instructions also say that you can use it only once a week. it should probably not say it ran, when it didn't ...
No, I said that I ran it a few times last year (not within the last month though), and again today. It doesn't let you run it if you've already run it in the last week.
