Today I found myself in confusion.

At first, the annotations in this forums were in Swedish.

Then, the language of the UI switched to German.

What I do want is English, which is the installed language on my local machine, and browser.

Thank you for your consideration

The questions, answers and comments in this forum are mostly in English but there is some German, French, Dutch and Swedish as well. I would expect this trend to continue since geocachers are an international bunch. As for myself, I'm best at Swedish and English but will happily answer as best I can in somewhat butchered German as well.

As for the UI, I have switched it back and forth between English and German a couple of times and haven't seen any signs of the language changing when I don't want it to (apart from a few notification emails from this QA system that don't appear to be available in German, since I get them in English even though others are in German).

To determine what language you want Project-GC to speak to you, go to longW -> Settings and select the language you want. What language your local machine uses isn't relevant, as far as I know.

Sorry, the question was not about the content.
Maybe I was not clear enough, because I did assume that a bug is always related to the underlying software.

It is about the surrounding interface of the webpages, not the content-fields.
I am aware that this planet remains in kind of a babylonic state.

Right now threader line reads:

Just another language, the fourth I see today, and none of them were chosen.

Thank you for your answer anyway.
OK. I wasn't quite sure what you meant by "annotations". Something entered by users seemed most likely.

I'll be on the lookout for random language changes, but I haven't seen any yet. Just to doublecheck: Is this a problem you only see in the QA part of the site?
It effects solely this forums, if that is what is the QA part.
It appears, that it is somehow related to the origin of the answer, as long as I do not have any other window open (cookie stored?).

This might be an explanation why it switched to Swedish at one point, and probably the other language. But I do not want anybody to step forward on his/her native language.

It would be interesting to know if this affects more people. I haven't seen it myself (yet). Except that I do get some notification mails in German from time to time. Something we of course will look into. It is likely that all notification mails will be in English in the future.

After deeper investigations we have realized that the software we use here isn't compatible with switching language per user. An update has just been applied so that it will stick to English.

In the future we might be able to give the users the user interface in their native language again.
