GC7EF5 - Two for One, Three at a Time is in Texas rather than Arkansas on Project GC maps

Hi All,

On Geocaching.com, GC7EF5 - Two for One, Three at a Time is listed in Arkansas. It is a virtual cache on the border of Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas.

On Project-gc, having found the cache, we now are showing a find in Cass County, Texas rather than Arkansas.

Please Help!

That means that the cache is in Texas according to the map data we are using, and that is official US census map data. There may be minor inconsistencies with other sets of map data like Google Maps or OpenStreetMaps. If your complaint is that the cache is not in the same state as is listed on the cache page, remember that that piece of information in the cache listing is entered by the cache owner and may well be wrong, especially very near a border.

If you are planning for a cache trip to "fill in" unlogged states or counties, always make sure to check beforehand that the cache is located where you think it is according to both geocaching.com and Project-GC, and in general never pick a cache very close to a border for this purpose since it may well turn out to not be where you think it is. It may even "move" from one state to another if we get map data with better resolution in the future.

If you install the Project-GC browser extension you will easily see on the cache page what state and county Project-GC will count a cache for, as well as what state the cache owner listed (and as I suspected, for this cache these two pieces of information don't match for this cache).

The cache can look like on the border, but its pin has to be in one of the countries. If you look closely to the map, it is indeed in Texas and you have to admit that geocaching/owner designation is wrong.
