Temo que si el CO ya lleva 2 años sin actividad y que no le responde que no tenga más interés en geocaching (o, en el caso peor) haya muerto. Hay dos posibilidades de contactar el CO, o por mensaje via geocaching o por emilio (via el perfil), pero es muy probable que no va a contestar.
En este caso tiene diferentes posibilidades:
1) Poner una nota "needs maintenance". En ese caso el CO recibe una nota y si está aún activo quizas haga el mantenimiento necesario. Porque si no, normalmente después de un cierto tiempo, un reviewer va poner el caché en "temporarily disabled" con una nota de aviso al CO diciendo que en el caso que el mantenimiento no se efectua el caché será archivado. Y ultimamente eso va pasar. En ese momento el sitio está libre y puede poner otra caché.
2) Si el caché es interesante o de valor histórico y no quiere que sea archivado, puede hacer el mantenimiento usted. Normalmente es una cosa que no se hace – es el derecho y la obligación exclusiva del CO de hacer el mantenimiento –, pero si de verdad ya no está activo se pueden hacer excepciones.

I answered that in this case it is likely that the CO in question does not play geocaching anymore (or, in the worst case, has died). I explained that there are two ways how to contact a CO, either by messaging via geocaching or by email (via the profile), but that under the given circumstances it was unlikely that the CO would reply anymore.
Therefore there are two possibilities:
1) Putting a "needs maintenance" note. Like this the CO receives a message and after some time a reviewer will put the cache on "temporarily disabled" with a warning that the cache will be archived if maintenance is not done. If that’s not the case the cache will be archived and the TO will be free to put a new cache in that place.
2) If it’s an interesting cache or with historical value and the TO would not want it to be archived, he could do maintenance himself. I explained that normally this is exluded as it is the personal right and duty of the CO to maintain his/her caches, but if the CO really is not active anymore one could make an exception.
