I just noticed the following new positive attributes:

  1. Bonus cache
  2. Challenge cache
  3. Geocaching.com solution checker
  4. Power Trail

I went from a Diamond, that I just achieved, to a Sapphire.  I'm hoping this doesn't drop even more.

I was only 2 away from my 2nd cycle of Diamond, and now I too am only Sapphire! I have noted the reply from Clappy below, and I hope that it doesn't take too long to fully update to get back to my Diamond.
Just checked the latest PGC update and noticed that I have regained the Diamond.  It looks as though HQ and COs are moving quickly to update attributes on published caches.  What can I say other than I am impressed.
Same here. I feel sorry for whoever owns the ET Highway series in the USA. That's going to need a LOT of updating about Power Trails lol!

New attributes have been added by GC HQ as of yesterday Aug 31 (Release Note).
The count towards badges is already included, but it will take some time to properly update:

PGC will need some time to catch all new attributes and COs have to manually set them for their caches. Except for GC solution checker, which will be added automatically via script, and Challenges, which should be assisted via script.

The count will not further drop but rise again as PGC catches up with the attributes. Please give it some time though.

There will be a fifth new attribute, Diamond will then rise by 1 to 108. Timeline is still unknown, though.

I see that the CO's have to actually implement some of these new attributes into their caches, but not the Solution Checker one which happens automatically right?
What happens to caches from dormant CO's? I guess they don't get updated?
PGC just "sees" the attributes on each cache. The CO has to set them individually. There is a period (until Sep 30), where Power Trail owners can send a list to HQ (see Release Note).

The Challenge attribute will be mandatory for every new challenge cache (like the challenge checker) and seems to be partly awarded retroactively.

The Bonus attribute has to be set by each CO.

The Solution Checker attribute will be assigned automatically by HQ.

Edit: dormant CO won't update their caches, archived caches cannot be edited so no addition here either. Automatic assignments will be on active caches only (see also Release Note).
Thank you for the details and assurances.  Basically, we can expect this area of the statistics to be dynamic for quite some time.
