In essence, the existing Tool "Map NESW/Oldest" is a great idea, but in practice specific to my experience (New Zealand) it doesn't work so well.

Firstly, can we add a Filter so that the map can do EITHER NESW or Oldest at a time rather than trying to do both at the same time.

And secondly the current result includes GC2BE9D which is a Test cache which I don't think should really appear in the results as you have to an extra loop just to effectively eliminate its presence which is simply annoying.

Cheers.

As an extra request, a filter to exclude the Chathams and/or Stewart Island would be excellent too.

Hello TwigNZ,

I noticed that your question was getting lonely so I decided to experiment a bit.  What can I say, but every time I am forced to mess around with a tool, I learn more and more about it and PGC.

I put a check mark in the Hide: Archived and Disabled fields.  I ran it for both the North and the South islands separately, then, toggled the multi-function to run it with both the islands together.  It did eliminate that pesky test cache.

To eliminate the oldest cache from displaying, I tried to use the filters by using a date range but that did not work since it kept defaulting to the next oldest cache.  Adding a filter to toggle the oldest on or off would be a good idea.

It does make sense to add the Chatham and Stewart Islands as choices in the regional listings.  Once someone hides a cache there, then, you can actually choose to exclude by not including them when you pick regions using the multi function.

Cheers TT. I'm aware there are some clumsy work-arounds, but Im still struggling to think why anyone would want to search for NESW and Oldest caches at the same time anyway. To my mind they are quite different and need to be separated out.
