If I have say 15 coordinates, foe example, how do I work out the cache centroid? I see that on my stats profile, I have a centroid coordinate & would like to know if there is a website or tool to work out how it is derived?

That tool could be what you are looking for: http://www.geomidpoint.com/

It is no black magic -- centroid is normal arithmetical mean of all coordinates (North and East parts separately) as the coordinates are just (decimal) numbers. For tools, you can use what was provided by Lineflyer.
