Changes in logs

Question

I asked a question about log change notifications last year - that question was more around why I was getting a notification from a change that occured possibly quite some time earlier

I have a similarly themed qestion today

I've very recently had two notifications of log changes - these are from logs going back to August 2019 and January 2018 (same cache) 
What I can't tell is what the changes were and indeed if the change was in fact the date of the log

Though I don't think there is anything untoward here, I am mindful of date changes on logs being done to allow streak continuations - but will not know if I have not been given any information about the changes.

My question :-
So is it possible, if the fact that an 'edit' to the log has been made can the nature of the edit be included as part of the notification ?

That would require PGC to keep every log ever written...

I accept and understand that - however if the system has the ability to detect a change in a log then doesn't it know what that change is ?

My bet is that PGC does not detect the change - they may just be reporting what Geocaching.com provides. I suspect that when PGC collects the logs,  GC flags that the log is "new" or "edited", but that GC does not provide the original log. (as it is an edited log, the original may no longer be available anyway).

That is logical - shame, I get these notifications of older logs being changed and wonder what the reason is
