Your link doesn't seem to be working for me but I will make an educated guess and assume it's the edited logs emails from opted out users that you're confused about?
If so, these emails arrive because the user has opted out of sharing their information with third party services at Geocaching.com, this means that Project-GC has to "forget" that the name and the log is connected and for the site this will look like the log has been edited.
