For a challenge I'm working on, I need to complete my event (just plain jane events) calendar, and no checker I have tried gives an accurate count. I have resorted to a spreadsheet. This leads me to wonder about the accuracy of any calendar checker; there are several calendar based challenges I'm working on.

In order to get a specific reply, you need to give details about what you mean by not giving an accurate count. Which dates are wrong, and why? Give GC codes for caches that don't appear to be counted.

Unless you have some strange extra conditions to your calendar filling that you don't mention, you should be able to use the Tools -> Needed Found Dates page to see which dates you have events on and not.

WOW! Speedy reply! Thank you!
I have delved into my event past, and have the solution: a local event host was able to retain the GC code for his event (but change the date) for several years. I attended a number of those events (1/2 price steak night), but that ceased a few years ago, and I didn't recognize how that might affect the filter.
