Hi,

I have small hint. Geocaching understand Block Party same as Mega event. As per rules for this year almost all traditional Czech Mega events transformed to Block Party. See:
https://www.geocaching.com/play/results?st=N+49%C2%B048.000+E%E2%80%8A15%C2%B028.000&ot=query&oid=-1&r=120&ct=453%2C4738%2C3774%2C1304

That result in fact, we are not able to grow in amount of mega events etc.

Thank you

That is because although Geocaching summarises block party caches with megas, they are actually their own cache type. Block party caches are NOT mega-event caches.

Project-GC is doing the statistics correctly. Groundspeak is not.

Yes, Project-GC is not coherent in regard of those special names for Events every 5 years:

On the events folder all are counted. although CCE are not counted as such but as "Lost and Found", a type of event I've never done. Block-Parties are counted as BP.

On the badge pages it's completely different:

  • CCE are counted as ordinary events for the badge
  • BP are not counted at all as events, neither ordinary nor, as they should, as Mega
  • Both event types give an add-on for the Geocacher badge, if you visit one
  • Only CCE gives an add-on for the Event Host badge, if you host one, BP doesn't
This topic has com up several times here, but nobody cared about this inconsistencies.

Yes, as time is going, I see lot of BPs and nowadays I can re-formulate question, if new badge for frequent BP visitors will appear? (because lot of geocachers joined lot of BPs and it seems as good idea to appreciate them). But that is complex question to BadgeGen version etc.
For sure thank you for the answer.
Ich habe gerade mal im Wiki nachgesehen ( https://project-gc.com/w/Event ), und da wurden die Block Parties augenscheinlich komplett vergessen oder so.
