Trackables statistics and maps

Question

I would appreciate to have stats of my trackables in Statistics with enhanced statistics e.g. number of logs (discovered, visited etc.), number of "jumps", distance from HC.

Adding others' trackables to separate list in the same tab would be nice feature.

I am not familiar with Groundspeak API; hopefully it is doable in its current version.

Another nice feature would be map or list of trackables, which are stuck in caches for a long period and obviously lost or stolen.

Great idea. Hopefully that can be done. Now if we can just get everyone to log every time they retrieve/drop a trackable...

If I am not mistaken, it is not possible to retrieve (your) trackables through the API.

Do you have any documentation to the API?
And what about trackables in general? Is it possible to get some data about them through the API?

www.geotribes.com privides this facility, but it is not well implemented there. I have about 40 trackables, and as it gathers my data, I get 2-3 HTTP timeouts, have to hit refreash. eventually the data appears. Works great for normal trackables that are travelling, put personal ones, that you always keep on you, it does not seem to see.

I am sure PGC could do a better job that does not involve the http timeouts.

TB-Rescue (in its original form) is no longer available.

It was inegrated into project-gc (http://project-gc.com/Tools/TBRescue) in April.

As for stuck trackables, TB-Rescue (http://www.tb-rescue.com/resc_map_all.php5) provides an opportunity for TB owners to report their stuck trackables. But it's totally based on TB owner reports, and doesn't appear to use the Groundspeak API. So not doing anything "automatically" for the owner at all. It may be a useful stop gap solution for you for now? But I too would rather see an option in Project-GC to find and report apparent stuck trackables.
