Contact link does not work well when there is a "&" in the name of the geocacher

Example for me: OusKonNé & Cétyla

Link generated when we click on the envelope:

Result:
Geocaching profile of "OusKonNé" instead of profile of "OusKonNé & Cétyla"

Can you add some information to your question about where you are seeing this? I took a chance on Dashboard, but that seems to work as intended, and afterwards I realized that there is no envelope.

But I also have regular membership as OusKonNé (to reserve this name to me):

As the "u" parameter of the link considers only the word before "&" of the username, then it links to "OusKonNé" instead of "OusKonNé & Cétyla".

As another example, on the geocaching website, I picked a random geocacher name with a space and a "&": Peter & Eva
http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?guid=a04096f4-3a5e-4634-af1a-8d59b21277ca

Same problem, only the only the word before "&" of the username is considered and it links to another geocacher "peter" instead of "Peter & Eva".

Here, I believe that the safest solution is to use the "guid" link instead of the "u" link.

Then click on the envelope next to "Tagged by: OusKonNé & Cétyla".

As a result, you will have "Contacting: OusKonNé" instead of "Contacting: OusKonNé & Cétyla"

As mentioned, if the name has recently been changed, it might take some time before Project-GC realizes. That's the only thing I can think about. But since it (if this was the case) is now changed for me, it should be for you as well.

Click on the envelope and check the result in the geocaching . com website.

As result, you will have "Contacting: OusKonNé" instead of "Contacting: OusKonNé & Cétyla", even if your link is what we see in your png image.

Ok, now I see where the issue is, guess my eyes wasn't open enough. A fix has been applied and released to the live servers. We were just encoding the name wrong.

Looks that it is not a Project-GC "bug" but a generic Groundspeek URL problem when there is a "&" in the URL.

So I changed the title of the discussion from:
Email link not OK when there is a blank in the name of the geocacher
To:
Contact link does not work well when there is a "&" in the name of the geocacher

Well, it is not a Groundspeak issue really. But the & sign has to be encoded into %26. If you missed my reply, it is fixed on our live servers.

Today 19 Nov, I still have this problem: impossible to type ampersan in the input selction of a profile. Exemple, would like to see statistics for: "Jacko&Ninie", impossible to enter this pseudo, same for "HA&Co"
