Wild Card for Challenge Checker

Question

I am trying to make a checker for a puzzle cache-name alphabet challenge. I need it to allow you to use any other found puzzle cache as a wildcard cache for ONE of the 26 letter caches, but the wildcard can be used only once.

Any ideas on how to write this in script language?
