Challenge exceptions is a moderation page which is invite only. It was created before the Challenge moratorium and is partly obsolete after the moratorium was lifted. If all challenges were correctly published and maintained, the list shouldn't be needed for any Challenge caches published after year 2016.
This page can be used both to add geocaches that the system hasn't detected as challenges, as being challenges. And as the opposite.
The list is built upon two criteria:
- All geocaches that already have votes, up- or down-votes.
- All geocaches of type unknown, which has the challenge attribute, but does not have the word Challenge in the title.
Additionally geocaches can manually be added to the list upon need.
When a challenge has been added to the list a PM will be sent to users having access to the page, notifying them that there are new exceptions that needs voting. When the votes reaches a confidence score of at least 35% the exception will be used, otherwise it will be ignored by the system (Project-GC).
Votes shall be based on if it does have an ALR (Additional Logging Requirement) or not. The votes should not take the actual challenge guidelines into consideration. It's up to the reviewers (and Geocaching HQ) to interpret those guidelines, and make the decision if it should be published or not (or even archived after the fact).
Challenges that need to be considered for the list can be suggested via the dedicated thread in Project-GC's Community support system.
