[Cancelled] GC7128C - 10%+ Mystery Cache Challenge
March 05, 2017 08:05PM
Hello,

We would like to request a Checker, please. Our Challenge cache will be called The One in Ten Challenge. We would like to disallow loop/power trail Bonus caches, but we realise this may not be technologically feasible. We are totally open to suggestions here. We realise the easiest thing might be to just filter for 10% or more Question Mark Icons. If you have suggestions to improve on this, please let us know. We qualify for our own Challenge - shown in the image pasted into the cache page or on our GC Stats page which is public.

Our requirements as written on our cache page so far:
1. You must have found a minimum of 10 Mystery/Unknown Cache Types.
2. At least One in Ten (10%) of your total Found caches must be Mystery/Unknown Puzzle or Challenge caches.
3. Geocache Series or Power Trail Bonus Caches may NOT be used to qualify for this Challenge.
4. You may NOT use your own caches to qualify.
5. You must show that you qualify by using the Challenge Checker link below. Please paste your qualifying results in your Found log. You can also paste an image like the one below in your log if you like, but the Challenge Checker will be the final word in qualification.

Many thanks for helping us!

This design is not a positive challenge because the ratio requirement discourages people from finding other types of caches.

As a Reviewer, I would suggest that you change the challenge requirement to a simple number, such as "find at least 200 mystery caches."

Hmmm. We didn't look at it that way - we thought it would encourage people to find Unknown type caches. If our request is against the rules, this thread can be closed and we will consider something else and resubmit our request.

In addition to condition #2 being against the guidelines, condition #3 would also not be able to be checked as there is no way to determine whether a cache is a bonus cache (and if you were thinking of the word "bonus" being in the cache name, that's also not allowed under the guidelines).

I'll archive this thread. Feel free to create a new thread when you come up with a new challenge.
